Royal Garrison Artillery

Post by thokenda »

Anybody tell me if the Royal Garrison Artilley ( WWI) had it's own capbadge ?
Have looked at some Cap badge sites and the RA Museum site without any luck, not even a mention of the Garrison Artillery.
Thokenda.......

 Tom,Looking in the good book it would seem that the Volunteer Artillery regiments of the RGA (Royal Garrison Artillery) had their own distictive cap badge ie,The 1st Hampshire R.G.A. Volunteers the badge as general pattern but with the top scroll inscribed 1st and the bottom scroll inscribed Hants RGA Volunteers, the same for 3rd Middlesex. The 5th Lancashire Volunteer Artillery badge was of the helmet plate design with the title-scroll Royal Garrison Artillery, the 2nd East Riding of Yorkshire RGA (Volunteers) under the Imperial crown, second and East Yorks R.G.A. Volunteers on the title scroll.hope this is of some help,Cheers.Aye JR
