The Oxford University Hospitals - Theatre Practitioners

Post by Joberate »

Put some kerpow into your career and be a bit more super at Oxford.

With great power comes great responsibility. Yes, we know all that but we think that working in theatre teams should be enjoyable too. So come and join one of ours – and see how supportive, friendly and rewarding it really can be as you save the world, one patient at a time.

We need exceptional individuals to join Team Oxford in cardiothoracic, women’s services, orthopaedic, cancer, or general surgery. You’ll discover a whole world of opportunities to rotate, cross train, and develop in these roles. What’s more, you’ll benefit from our links to Oxford universities. You’ll provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as a key member of our operating theatre team. As a Band 6 practitioner, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, and provision of specialist nursing advice while carrying out specialist procedures and providing clinical supervision to other staff. All practitioners will assess and evaluate patient care, plan and prepare equipment, and contribute to research.

A role model for more junior members of the team, you will need to be a registered nurse with NVQ Level 3 in ODP or Dip HE equivalent and ODA 752. Band 6 practitioners will also bring a diploma in perioperative practice and a teaching certificate or equivalent along with an extensive proven track record in an operating environment. To join us at Band 5 experience will be desirable but not essential. Attitude will be everything. Above all, you’ll be a talented practitioner that can make a difference, with strong organisational and problem solving skills, a sound understanding of healthcare issues, and a flexible and motivated approach.
