He has Phase Two (Trade training) to complete yet, in the last week of that he will be given a PPP (Prefered posting proforma) to complete. On there will be three options for him to fill in.
It normally runs to UK North, UK South, and one other.
This will then go off to Glasgow and they will decide where to send him.
Now although he has a choice he needs to be aware that the Armys needs come first and his come a very close second.
Hope that helps mate
PS be prepared for flak if you come on here mate, but its all in good humour.

Tab's comment was just that.... a comment... no flak and no need for murcia to get the hump.
Assuming murcia's son is AGC (SPS) rather than one of the other three branches of the AGC (Legal Services, Education or RMP) he could pretty much go anywhere....
Every single unit has it's bunch of clerks and admin support...
As for the PPP (otherwise known as the dream-sheet) don't Glasgow use the 'chuck a dart at a map on the wall' method anymore for determining postings?

By that do you mean cut back in numbers across the board? Almost definitely... But that's the case with all Corps units. Recruitment will be cut, but the AGC isn't like most other Corps... There aren't AGC Regiment in their own right. Numbers of AGC cap badged clerks get posted to HQs within units to provide clerical, HR and Pay Office type support. So they're scattered all over the shop.
'For the Chop' as in 'Disbanded'? Highly unlikely and there's no talk of it on other military websites I've seen... <ahem.. cough... ARRSEnal!>
