Accreditation of Service Quals

Post by Mutley »

Virtually all management training in the MOD is accredited.
The most popular accredited programmes are as follows:

Junior, Senior and Advanced Command Courses
Leading Hand Leadership Course and Petty Officers Leadership Course
EPC, EPC(A), EFP1 and EFP2
RAF(FT), RAF(TMT) and RAFGST

Where a member or ex-member of the armed services has already been successful on one of the approved courses and did not, or could not, take advantage at the time, there is a retrospective scheme for service and ex-service personnel which provides certification for prior learning.

Retrospective accreditation programmes are eligible for a partial refund of fees under the Standard Learning Credit Scheme (Education allowance). Individuals who are in their last year of service may be eligible to claim the full cost of the programme through the Individual Resettlement Training Costs (IRCT) grant.

Financial support for candidates wishing to take part in this scheme is also available by applying for Individual Learning Accounts (ILA).

These are not Mickey Mouse quals, they are highly regarded / recognised:
Introductory Certificate in Management,
Certificate in Management,
Introductory Diploma in Management
Diploma in Management.

Promotion courses for SNCOs in the Reserve Forces of the RN, RM, Army and RAF are accredited for the Introductory Certificate in Management. Warrant Officer training is eligible for the Introductory Diploma in Management.
