hi guys question, When you get to Battalion and you go home on the weekends and stuff are you allowed off camp in your uniform? Might sound a bit petty but really curious. thanks a lot.

I think the current Situation is, you are allowed out of camp in C95's if you are within a garrision. If you are not in a garrision then you are not allowed out in C95's. Cannot be 100% certain on this though.

I can't get my uniform off quick enough at the weekend, and certainly wouldn't wear it outside of camp, unless on exercise. I reckon you've got to be a sad act wearing those big green pyjamas round town anyway, why would you - you become a target. Uniform isn't supposed to be worn outside, unless like grimey says, its a garrison.

Where I live you can't wear your uniform down to town.
I don't know if it's different in England though.

As Mr Adams said "they haven't gone away you know" they are still targeting, training, gathering inteligence and gun running.

Try and read the Informer by Sean O'Callaghan, this will give you a bit of an insite into what they do and how they do it.

I think it should be allowed as long as it's ceremonials for walking out dress. Lets see how the firkin Life Guards like that one - hardehardehar.

There is no definate 'yes' or 'no' to this question. The UK is broken down into areas and each area has it's own policy dependant on current security threats. If the overall threat level drops, Bde Cdrs, Stn Cdrs & CO's can still enforce a no uniform policy. The only way to know is read SSO's/SRO's and ak at the MGR.

If you would like to wear uniform (weddings etc) away from work, you need to request permission from your OC.
