PRTC

Post by Kcoates »

Hey, i have my PRTC coming up at Halton on the 9th of Ocotober and i was wondering if anyone who has already been and done their PRTC could tell me what actually happens during the two days? Is it just fitness tests i.e. the bleep test, situps and pushups or is there a formal interview involved as well? What time do you start on the first morning and what time do you finish on the second day?

Any reply would be of great help. Cheers!

Hi ya!
I've just got back from my PRTC yesterday so I'll try to keep it brief and remember everything!
I really enjoyed it and am so excited to start. The main things were - briefs in the morning, we then went to meet the Regt people and were shown around and issued with our boots, there was a social event in the evening, and we were up at 5 / 5:30 on day two. Breakfast and fitness test consisting of bleep test, sit ups and press ups. We then went back, shower and more briefs in the afternoon.
Main pointers - make sure you LISTEN to what they say and seriously just don't speak at all when you are outside cos they go crazy!! We were apparently the worst PRTC they have ever had as unfortunately we had some giggly girls and chatty guys who had to keep being told to shut up!! Just think of it as still a job interview and whatever you do - don't have attitude because a few people did and it went down like a turd sandwich! Just always remember you want to give an excellent first impression because othewise you'll be remembered for all the wrong reasons!!
Seriously though, I absolutely loved it and it has made me even more sure that this is the career I want! Any other questions - feel free to ask sorry if it's a bit long winded!!
When is your actual start date and what are you joining up as?

I am going in as Pers Admin and my start date is also the 12th November. Good idea about the fitness it is definately worthwhile to work on it. I passed the bleep test which was 7.2 (women) and you need to get 9.10 if you are a guy. I didn't get through the press ups and sit ups though which was a little embarrassing - never mind though I've got 6 weeks to work on it!
Good luck and just enjoy it! I loved it and really can't wait for November 12th!
