Joining the Royal Marines, but is my tattoo 'excessive'?

Post by wingerwill11 »

Had my first AFCO meeting yesterday, everything went fine. Told them and showed them my tattoo on my wrist and they were pretty sure the uniform would cover this, but I also have another tattoo which I thought would be of no issue because is always covered, but as I see in the booklet they gave me- 'excessive tattoos' are forbidden. It goes round my belly button in Tribal design and up the one side of my ribs, about an inch bellow my chest. If anyone has any info on what is classed as an 'excessice tattoo' it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We heard you the first time and also over on Rum Ration. Your tattoo doesn't seem to be too excessive. I've seen worse/better/bigger ones.
