transfering to the paras from raf regt

Post by RRG »

Hi, im a current serving RAF Regt gunner been in nearly 2 years now and completed a tour of iraq and was wondering if its possible to transfer from my current job to the para's as i would be intrested to do a more of a demanding offensive infatry job than what i am at the minute however ive been told by some of the lads on my sqn that ill never be able to transfer and it would be easier to leave and then re join the army
furthermore i was wondering if i was fit enough i can currently manage the following :-
Upper body
58 press ups in one minute
70 sit ups in one minute
Cardiovascular
1.5 mile run (clean fatique flat ground) 6-7 mins
3.5 mile speed march carrying 55-60lb in 38 minutes
Any info from nay one specially serving paras would be great ty

Why don't you just try and get posted to the SFSG?

I would think that you would make a formal request through the Officer in charge of your unit
