Firefighter Eyesight

Alrite everyone,

Just a quick question, do you need perfect eyesight to become a Firefighter in the RAF?

Your local AFCO could tell you for definate.

To quote from that site....
These standards are subject to alteration without notice and no responsibility for consequences arising as a result of these changes can be accepted by the Ministry of Defence (Air). The decision as to the individual’s fitness is the prerogative of the Medical Board which examines him/her.
As I said before, the most accurate place to find out about the eyesight requirementsis at your local AFCO.

I thought the fireman trade in the R.A.F was defunct and farmed out to civvy firms

Is this not the case ?
