What about members passing on any useful or handy tips?

I'll get the ball rolling with a money saving tip which has got to be popular in these hard pressed times.

When you buy a poppy cover it in clear sticky back plastic so you can use it year after year.

I got mine laminated years ago. It cost me the price of a drink for the Jenny in the TAPC, but I've got that back several times over by the amount I've saved from avoiding the tin rattlers!

If your name isn't Rashid, never answer the phone if you don't recognise the number.
It saves time and violence later.

When I was a recruit, there was a Mountain Leader at CTC who used to go out on the hills with his dog. Rather than carry food for both, he would just take tins of dog food and share it with his mutt.

I never understood his logic.

Never leave home.

Works for quite a few people I have known. Daughters included. Why spend money on food, lecky, gas, water, rent/mortgage when your parents can do it instead.

If you want to look like the tiny Geordie mirth makers Ant and Dec,look at your own reflection on the back of a large spoon.
