Help for Heroes Marathon

Alright folks, by way of an introduction, I'm a Bootneck serving with 45 Commando and have just returned from Herrick 9. Myself and 11 others from the unit are running the Edinburgh marathon at the end of this month, with the aim being to raise as much money as possible for 'Help for Heroes'. Not co...

Hey folks. Further to what Polynikes stated above, there were only 25 boys booked down to start RT on the 28th but I'm not sure how many have been moved to the 11th intake. If everyone has been shifted to the 11th, that suggests that numbers for that troop would have been mega low as well. I'm not s...

I've just found out that the troop due to start on the 28th May has been cancelled due to a lack of recruits. I've just been moved on to the 11th June recruit troop. Looks like it will be packed with lads from here.

Ha Ha, no offence taken mate. I suppose I'll be able to give you an idea of how my old training team compare to others very shortly since I'm rejoining on the 28th of this month. Happy Days.

I'm 100% sure it was run at 9 min/mile as we were told right after finishing. The post asked about the early stages of RT and I was just giving an idea of what we encountered. Pace was obviously increased from then on to bring the troop up to speed. Not sure about being a 'cotton wool' troop, perhap...

He's right folks, 26th - 29th. I should have been joining him but have sadly been hammered by a small tear in my hamstring. Gutted as I was all set to smash it up. I'm in the process of rejoining having left last October. Worst decision I've ever made. Ah well, should be all set in about 6 weeks to ...

Lunan Bay is just up the road from Arbroath. As the name suggests, plenty of sand and dunes to hammer yourself on. Condor has a trim trail around it that you might get to use, as well as a dry ski slope that is often used for sprint sessions. As _chris just said, ask the boys up there as well, there...

Alright lads. I've been on this course when it was held up here in Dundee a few months back. http://www.militaryforums.co.uk/cforums/viewtopic.php?t=10409&highlight= Not sure if this link business will work, but thats the page where I explained what went on. Its good banter and a good chance to ...

MCD Easterbrook, Potential YO's do not have to do the same 3 mile run as recruits on the PRMC. The running portion of the POC is done on the Endurance Course and then the run back to CTC.

Toffee, I just kept banging out the pressups until i couldn't do any more and when I was finished, the PTI asked the boys who were counting for us what we got. On PRMC, I presume that the boys who are counting are told to stop you when you reach 60? If so, then no instruction was given to that effec...

Jay- Its probably best to ask your AFCO for any dates that are upcoming. I only got a letter through about 2 weeks before, telling me I was on the course, never knew anything about it until then. Danny- After POC in february, had a 12 month wait before I could even get the chance to try POC again. I...

RM Acquaint Day

Hey all, I was on an RM acquaint day yeterday up here at RMR Dundee, and it was definately the most beneficial thing I have done so far with regards to preparing for PRMC. If you get the chance to go on one of these days, go for i, it's a great chance to see how your training is going. For those who...
