Re: Anyone joining/applying for the Corps of Army Music

Hi I am a 25 year old female. I really want to join the corps of army music. I'm a South African but I have a visa to work in the UK. I play the clarinet and have played in semi-professional orchestras for years. I am just worried about the standard they are expecting. I read 50% of the audition is...

Re: East London

I know this is a long way away from East London (I used to live in Stepney Green) but the AFCOs in Bloomsbury, Wembley and Strand hold a running club every Thursday at 5:30 where they make us do a timed 1.5mi run and some circuit training (and sometimes team exercises). It's well fun. Really recomme...

I saw a brief update on Sky News that the disrespectful scrouges have decided to cancel their self-serving, attention-seeking show. Peace not be upon them.

I ordered mine as soon as I saw the link and OP delivered! Ordered some days before christmas and got it on the day before christmas eve. Didn't put the book down because I really enjoyed reading it.

Thanks!

There is a website called Proud2serve which acts as a support group for LGBT in the Armed Forces. Best to get in touch with them as they prolly know more than anyone else about this issue. :)

I didn't know before that there's only one chance of retrade.

I'm pretty decided that I want to go for RE now, if I fail my audition. I didn't know about them before I posted this thread. :)

Thanks for the info.

Oh bugger! I did think they would try and chase up my meds from my old gp but seeing as I haven't really had anything medical in the last 7 years, I'd be slightly annoyed if it get's delayed only to find out I'm clear. Another bugger. When you said no pianist, can you still play an accompanied piece...

You know I am already. I am on the process of filling in my application form. Just waiting to finalise the transfer of my GP to the local one so I can put their name on my form. I'm hoping to do my audition sometime Feb/Mar but I don't know what pieces to play. Do they have to be unaccompanied pieces?
