Hi all. I'm a Canadian writing a thriller with a British character who is former SAS speaking to an SAS colonel. I want the colonel to use a slang term for new recruit, but I don't know what that term is. Sprog and crow have been suggested but I'm under the impression that those are not what the SAS uses.

Can anyone help me with this?
