I want to join the army, but I think my medical condition (neurocardiogenic syncope) would DQ me as I'm prone to fainting.
I've been reading in the papers that a war with Russia might start. If into does, do you think I'd be able to join up if they need troops and medical DQ levels are lowered?

Sorry, bad news for you.
Two things: Firstly don't believe everything you read in the papers, chances of us entering into a conventional war with Russia are practically non-existent, and secondly even if we did need more people your chances of getting in with a condition that makes you prone to fainting would still be zero. It's just not a risk anyone in the MoD would be prepared to take.

Is there anything else you'd be interested in doing which might assist the Armed Forces without you needing to join up? Civil service, engineering, something like that?
