55 Squadron visit

Post by djdenyer »

Hi,

Currently in application process to join as a WSOP, got my OASC date (end of feb). The guys at the careers office are great, in the meantime I've been booked on a variety of courses to help me prepare. One of which is a visit to RAF Cranwell next wednesday to see the 55 Squadron, I presume these are the guys who help organise all the hangar training etc.
What else should I expect from the visit?

Regards
Danny D

55 Sqn is responsible for NCA training at cranwell. This includes NCAITC and the WSOp generic course. If by hangar training you mean the OASC practical testing, that is done by other people who live across the road from 55 Sqn.

Have you been to one of the presentations they do at Cranwell for potential Officers and Aircrew? They are on the last Thurs of every month, unless they've changed since I went through! Gives you lots of info and shows you some of the kit you'd be training on.
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.
