Fazer 1000

i have a friend who has a fazer 1000 and recently when he was at donnington on a track day it abruptly died on him? any ideas what it could be? it is not the sidestand switch as it is trying to fire but will not, he thought he had hit the kill switch but it had done it a couple of times before and it had bump started itself

If its turning over... it would'nt be any cut out switches.
That leaves spark and fuel.
And i would check the fuel pump first, if its a newer model that is.

thanks, he found out what it was yesterday
he managed to get a plastic bag caught in the air duct which was cutting off the oxygen needed to create the spark to make it fire
