Bless, he is a stunning horse though!

I miss my horse. Even though he was put down when I was 18yrs old, I still miss the sod. Cross-bred welsh cob/thor. though.

Bet he had a great personalit though!

Welcome to the Animal Lovers thread, where all animals....thud...where an animal is loved :o

sorry...coat.........

I have a golden lab by the name of Jack, love him to bits, he's a very loving dog and acts as my shadow, goes running with me, lies on my lap for cuddles as I watch eastenders and generally wags his tail at anything and everyone. Couldnt wish for a better dog.....thud......couldnt have wished for a better dog (no he is dead really, not joking  )

Wholly,
daughter has just bought a quarterhorse foal (below with mother)

I believe he is a buckskin, lets hope he gives her 30yrs of pleasure and keeps healthy,
You may prefer the neck on my arab youngster, he is spanish/egyptian lines
(Arimis was old english, and a bit of egyptian through el shaklan, so was heavier altogether)

Barbie.
I always prefered the Spanish bloodline.

I don't think I'll have anymore Horses.
I still help an Oppo with his as I find cleaning stalls and talking to them
comforting.

And before you start Doc,
Two words.

First one begins with"F" :D :D :D

Nice looking Arab. He's more muscular than most Arab's I've seen. Stud horse? Lots of people in my area don't like Arabs much, but I've ridden several part-bloods that I liked. I'm fortunate. I don't own any horses but my landlord has two that my wife and I have the use of. In fact we're the only people who do use them.

They're not fancy horses, just what we call "grade" (mongrel, mixed) horses of a Quarter Horse type. Of course part of the deal is that I keep their feet trimmed. I used to shoe a little bit but trimming is enough of a job for me since I herniated a disc in 2002! That does well enough since I don't have much time for long rides. Just keep 'em trimmed and put on easyboots for rides I do now.

I think he's a buckskin but he might be a grulla. Does he have a dorsal stripe?

No dorsal stripe,he has a beautiful silver/slate winter coat at the moment, but it is only his foal coat,

Did you ride at Lympstone Wholly? Remember Laramie and the annual show jumping on the lower field where the assault course is? or Alan Wardle?
A bit later there was Psalm, Rum , Scammel, and my fave Lucifer?

You ride English or Western?
I personally hate English although I was taught to ride that way.

Only horses I ever handled were Heavy Draught types and Shires, working lads, hauling carts laden with Railway goods. Loved being in stables at 0500 to harness up, and, on Winter hard days, studding the shoes, buggers used to lean on me whilst doing that chore, I'm sure they were having a laugh. :D :D

I've always had western saddles. My wife has an Aussie saddle that I like to use occasionally (when I get permission  ). If I'm only going to ride for 30 minutes or so a lot of times I won't even saddle up. Bareback improves your seat and balance better than anything I've tried.
