Hi everyone,

Im looking to join RMR Henley in time for the start of Holding troop and selection. I have heard that holding troop starts end of November and selection weekend is January. Can anyone confirm this?? Second question is, i have only just got in contact with my local unit. They have not got back to me as of yet, is there a chance that i will be able to get all my admin sorted by the time holding troop starts and/or selection weekend?
Any help will be great.

Many thanks

James

Hello m8 I've recently joined the Henley on thames rmr and jus to confirm the first holding troop started on the 5th of dec. And the selection is on the first week of march it took me about 2 months to get all the admin cleared up including pjft =] so 2 b hounest m8 the best advice I can give is keep on badgering them or if not go to your local afco they will set you in the right direction. So if u crack on it should allright.

Hope this helps.

Carl.

Dont laugh Harry, there is a RMR det started in Belfast this year, I'm planning on joining only not as young/fast as I used to be. Jack in the recruiting office told me the 1.5 mile run was to be done in 10 minutes the offical site says 10 minutes 45 seconds. Those extra seconds mean a lot to an oul lad like me.

Isn`t it a sliding scale for former Bootys, like the old bft? You`ll have no probs there mate, they`ll drag you in 8)
As long as you`re not pregnant.

Er, you`re not pregnant are you Barry :o

I wish, 10 minutes bust. I think I would have a BFT to do as well and this would factor in age.

There was a bootie up there once he told me not to worry........ But hes gone now. We used to get what they called a tick in the box in the Royal Irish, I think they were pleased if we turned up.

Mate,
we had a right farking hoolligan night last Satdee 8)
Ladies Night it was and after the usual carols sesh with each table doing the obvious, it was our table`s turn and I jumped up on the table and gave it me best Five Foot Nine from Palestine followed by Sure, I`m an Ulster Orangeman and you`d be well surprised how many Bootys knew all the words 8)
And the Colours they are fine 8)

Big plus, our table was voted the best 8) And we never actually sang a single crimbo carol :-? Third song I sang was "There is a green hill far away" and my Scouse charm won over the voters :P
Even had our Padre smiling at one point, though it could`ve been wind :-?

Take a tot, big man
