I bought it off Amazon and it's excellent! Better than 3 Para I think.

Goose Green: A Battle Is Fought to Be Won, is still the best one that I've read yet though.

Hi guys

Had a look at the list and looked a few up but looking for some advice.

I'm in the process of joining the reg and just wonder if anyone can recommend a couple of books that will give an insight into training and first time experiences etc that any of you have read and would say will help new recruits.

I have read 3 para and ground truth and enjoyed them both.

Cheers,
Colin

i can recommend band of brothers by stephen e ambrose, made famous by the tv series of the same name. charts e company from the 506th regiment, 101st airborne, who also took part in op market garden. follows their story from training in Georgia all the way to berchtesgarden.

and not a book but piece of regimental history

Hello

I have just published a book entitled "13 - Lucky For Some". It is the history of the 13th (Lancashire) Parachute Battalion and is available from Amazon.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/13-History-Lanc ... y+for+some

It covers their formation, D-Day, Ranville, Putot-en-Auge, Pont L'Eveque, the Ardennes in the Battle of the Bulge, Holland, Operation Varsity, the march across Germany to Wismar and the Far East including the "mutiny".

Regards
