Could someone possibly help me please

Post by Gipser28 »

i have a friend who has a pack of four colour backed cards from the air ministry but have no idea what they are.

They have 4 accompanying sheets with a sort of legend on (1 for each set of cards) .

hopefully the pictures below (if they work) might help someone tell me what they are.

here is the link to the pictures

KEY TO (COLOUR) PACK (reprint) AIR MINISTRY JULY 1941

They have 4 accompanying sheets with a sort of legend on (1 for each set of cards) .

The colour backing is the following Orange, blue, green and red.

Thankyou in advance for any assistance you can give me.

They are WW2 aircraft recognition packs. There would be pictures of aircraft or even just a section of an aircraft. They were all over the place during the war and us kids had wads of them

Those cards and posters where also used by the Royal Observer Corps. My grandfather has hundreds of playing card style profile pictures of aircraft and also A3 sized fold out posters with the same profile pictures.

Think my grandfather said they where used for revision exercises etc, hence them being playing card size.

Hope this helps
