Hi I'm new, so Hi to all.
I wanted to know if anyone here had info or had tried the computerised simlutation treatment programme for PTSD?
If you don't know what it is, it's a fairly new (last couple of years) treatment programme from the States whereby you are exposed to the same trauma/s that caused your PTSD via computer simulation with the difference that you are in control of the computer rather than the situation controlling you.
I can't post a link because this is my first post, but there's a Guardian link about it which I'll post next.
I'm considering this for myself but wanted to know if anyone had tried it or if anyone had any experience of it please?
Ta.

It's not generally available yet but it looks as though it might be offered here in a few months (that's what I've been told anyway).

Mate, I'll try anything that might work. Run out of other options. This seems like it might be worth a try. Don't know why you're so against it, maybe you've never been that desparate. I have and I am.
Here's their thread if anyone else wants to know about it
Still looking into it for myself, haven't decided one way or the other yet.

I'll stick to the other board since I've had more replies and a few messages, the message seems to be it works for some people not for others. You haven't produced any evidence to back up why you don't like it and I'd rather see evidence for and against, not gut reactions. Doesn't help me much. Worth me posting to see where I got answers, I'll stay with the other board for now.

Well, thanks. I've had great responses over there, including a psychiatric nurse who is currently working in this area and an NHS commissioning officer. Strange responses on here, still never mind, I've had good responses over there. Don't know what you said to the mods over there, but I've received nothing but help as the thread on there shows.
treatment of PTSD
To anyone suffering from or working with PTSD. Look up an EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) -- a form of energy therapy which does not expose you to any stressful memories of the events responsible for the condition, is easy to learn for future self-help, does not include drugs and does not require any equipment. What it does, is help you resolve the issue within hours/days. Simply type in Gary Craig EFT and you will get plenty of information, but if you would like any little questions answered, I would be happy to oblige.
