Hello,This is intelligence speaking

Post by Wholley »

Do any of you(maybe)middle-aged gentle folk remember a BBC Home Service Radio show called the Navy Lark?
If you do,do you have any idea how I can obtain tapes or cd's of this show.I've had no luck with the Beeb in America.
Seem to remember it aired on Sunday after church, along with"The Clithero Kid"and"Round The Horne"
Did'nt care for the kid,but Kenneth Horne was brill.

I think the Goldsteam character was portrayed by Tenniel Evans.
The other actors were : Michael Bates, Richard Caldecott, Heather Chasen, Stephen Murray , Laurie Wyman, Leslie Phiilips and Jon Pertwee.

As I was about five when this was on, most of the humour went over my head
Which was probably a good thing.
Imagine how I might`ve turned out if I knew what it was that me Dad was laughing at :o
Have heard some of the tapes, it`s bleedin hillarious :P

I may well be wrong, and on here I'll almost certainly be corrected but wasn't it June Whitfield in 'Round the Horne'.

Harry,
P.S. Kenneth Williams was in 'Round the Horne' not the Navy Lark, and of course Hancock's Half Hour.
