Time Span for TA Training

I am very keen to begin training with the TA and will be having a meeting soon with the AFCO, before I go however I would like to know some information about training.
I understand that the initial training takes place over 6 weekends... do these have to be in succession of each other or are they split over several months. Furthermore there is a 2 week training session held for Infantry units, which is what I will be joining, this takes place after the 6 weekends have been completed but must it be done within a certain timespan? I ask this simply due to work commitments and they would like some answers. Would anyone be able to help me on these questions.
