TA Application Update

Post by Soggyllama »

Following the phone call I just received, I have found out the final details for my 'Day in army life' coming up his saturday.

Between 0900 and 0915 I need to be at local TA Center
Then its a trip to our local regs barracks (Donnington)
Then its a 1.5 mile run
Back to TA Center
Press-ups
Sit-ups
and interviews
Wrap up around 1300-1330

Then Medical at the beginning of march

in otherwords....."Oh yes, its ON!!" :)

Seems to me its a mini pre-RSW RSW

Goddammit Got a stitch, ran through it, got a 2nd stitch which nearly crippled me, however since carrying on with everything else, I didnt get through this time, but have a 6 month deferral (which is slightly better than a f**k Off). SO 6 months of pushing myself more than I did before and figure out how NOT to get stiches now

I didnt get to finish the run with them, as the pain was excrutiating and managed to mess my breathing up, so in turn got a 'lift' round the rest of the course in teh meat wagon

before that though I had managed 20 mins with a minor stitch, and in the past managaed 14:59 (which I know still isnt good enough) and before that I have no idea as I hadnt timed or checked distance, just ran for (about)25-30 mins. I admit I probably didnt push myself as hard as i should have, but not I have a 6 month period to get myself into tip top A1 condition.

Thats it m8 work hard over the next 6 months, get on the treadmill less chance of shin splints so you can push your self harder. Then start added road runs when your fitter, you wouldn't have wanted to scape in anyway, would have made the weekend camps hell. I wanna get fit, trained and have a laugth with the ladz not come back on deaths door everytime.
Good luck with the training.

Exactly mate. I DID get a handy 'Mini Fitness guide' given to me as I was leaving. Though the spelling was terrible (E.g- Millitary and areobic) which should help me, as well as my 'Official British Army Training' book I bought. :)
