Age limit in Combat units

Lads, if you're over 33 years of age can you get into a combat unit?
Someone told me that you can't

I'm pretty sure you can join up till your 43rd birthday.

Have you spoken to someone at the unit you were thinking about joining?

Yes the upper age limit is 40- something.

I cant join for another 2 years anyway due to a medical condition so I'll phone them up closer to the time.

I was just fishing for some information trying to plan out my future etc.
