Would mild eczema prevent me from serving in the TA ?
I have a friend who has real bad eczema and he was accepted into the TA without issue...

Medical Joining Query
The medical you get when you join isn't up to much but don't expect to be deployed on operations as they give you a good thourough going over at Chilwell. Once again there is no point in trying to cheat the system, if you get found out you'll be kicked out and likely charged to boot. Also if you were on ops and your condition (whatever it may be) flared up you'd leave your section/multiple/platoon a man short, how would your comrades feel about you in that situation?
What do you know about surfing major, you're from god damn New Jersey
Agreed.
However, I am a keen rock climber and have operated under physically demanding conditions across many continents due to my extreme leisure activites. Never suffering from any problems.
I would not join the Armed Forces if I posed a risk to my fellow colleagues.
Neither would I lie, I have mild eczema, although not suffered from it for many years ... apart from a recent small patch on my face, which cleared up within days of applying some cream.

Hello SQX,
Just joined the TA myself, and I think the only straight answer you'll get is from going in and asking. Sometimes it can depend on the doctor who gives your medical as to whether they think it warrants as serious.
We all found that as long as you can walk in the medical, and then back out, you've passed
Good luck
