Regiment training.

Post by gunner75 »

are the gunners doing a 29wk course now? the one iv just looked at entailed a final 3 to 4 week on the ranges? surely getting out in the field or prep for theatre (i.e places sandy) would be better than ranges? mind boggles.

I would have thought that the minimum time on the ranges would be 3-4 wks? Looking at what the guys carry/use now on Ops you couldn't do a good range package in less?

yeah good point. id of thought tho in most cases if your getting farmed out the last part of training would of been geared up to what you would be doing out there. I suppose however thats where pre deployment training kicks in.

Phase One and Two is 24 weeks after which you graduate and move on to Phase Three. This is 5 weeks Field Gunner, 2 weeks driver, 1 week Functional Skills, 1 week Bowman.

Hope this helps!
