Anyone out there who is an Avionics Technician or knows a bit about it?, there isn't much out there on the web to look at.

Hey, first post!

Seriously considering joining the RAF in the same trade as yourself. A bit unsure of what is needed of me though.

Have few qualifications from school, scottish qualifications. Bit above what they are looking for according to the site anyway.

Have set about getting fit, going to start reading up on history of the RAF. Main question I have is the aliptude tests, what kind of questions are in these are they simple enough or pretty hard maths questions?

Hi,

Went in my AFCO on thursday and made an application for Avionics Tech. I've now got my aptitude tests on the 18th April.
Just take a trip down to them and have a chat, they'll tell you all you need to know.

Yeah I must agree with you! I went to the AFCO in November 2006 and they answered all my questions about the trade. I now have my Final Interview on 11th April. You will be best going your local AFCO, they are really helpful.
