Hi all i'm new to all this so here we go,
I Submitted an application today to the RAF to become a Weapon Systems Operator (Crewman). I have found out quite a bit about this job but today found something out I didn't know. Is it true they turn you away if I haven't had much leadership experience? What qualifies as leadership experience? Does it mean I have to have been a manager in my previous job?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I don't know who told you that but that is incorrect. When you go for your selection at RAF Cranwell you will (is you get this far!) undertake assesed leadership exercises where your POTENTIAL will be tested, not your actual skills.
Many people, including myself, go though the selection process at a very early age and so have no real management expereince however experiences you have learnt whilst doing things such as a school prefect etc can certainly help you with the basics.

You do know that you're applying for generic WSOp now, and you may or may not get crewman, don't you? You can express a preference during training, but you will get streamed according to your strengths and abilities at the end of the course.
