Oh right.
Ares, I know you dont NEED to be a Para to get selection for the SAS but you will have the best chance.
Ive also heard that you cant apply for the SAS, you have to be selected by someone. Is this true?

You can apply for selection, officers get selected. I think so anyway.
Re: Paras to SAS
First of you will need to be in the Army to join the SAS and as most of the men from the SAS come from the PARA's I suggest that you get your self fit and join them, but there is no guarantee that you will even pass their selection tests, so take one step at a time.

Yeah, Im planning to Join the Paras then apply for selection with SAS, Ive been in training for about two months - I wrote a schedule out in the Marines section (when I wanted to apply for them)

I heard that soldier or officer applies not "selected".
Becoming a Pathfinder could also be good, but i dont know how to get in, some sort of selection i assume. Tab might know more or the Para site.

Re: Paras to SAS
You can join the SAS/SBS/SRR from ANY branch of the armed forces. I'd suggest you get through basic training first be it Para Regt or RM then see how you feel about SF. The chances of passing basic training are not too good anyway so get fit for that, SF is a totally different ballgame and maturity is a huge factor.
Re: Paras to SAS
Do you have to be a cubscout to join MI6?
Do you have to save up teh coupons from cans of hair mousse before you can join NASA?
If you do 200 pressups on your ADSC do you automatically get into the army as a Corporal?
