hope its not too daft a question, but during CIC Para on field exercises, are they always completed with Blanks and/or Live ammuniton, or do they do 'some' simulated warfare using paintball guns or similar, for example?

The Heckler can fire a paint bullet but these are mainly used in house clearance and hostage rescue exercises. We used to do live fire excercises in the Battalion but not in training as you are still are the learning curve.
