PRMC
Haven't signed up for my PRMC yet. I'm wondering how long it would take to get a place in PRMC from application i.e if I applied now would I be assigned to report in february or can you ask for a date to go to PRMC?
I'm intending on joining straight after my leaving cert here so i'll be looking to do PRMC in about april , exams are in june, so that would mean i'd probably be going to CTCRM in about june/july (8-12 weeks from PRMC). Haven't spoken to a recruiter yet either, i'll have to go all the way up to Belfast

Potential Royal Marine Course (PRMC)
DAY 1: After reveille at 0600 hrs your accommodation will be checked for cleanliness and then you go to breakfast. At 0745 hrs you will be briefed on the course content and told exactly what is expected of you. 0845 hrs you will move to the gymnasium for the first physical session where you will be tested on your upper body strength with press-ups, sit-ups and pull-downs, followed by the VO2 Bleep test. Later in the morning you will carry out a period of Drill followed by a pay and service conditions lecture. At 1400 hrs you will move to the Assault Course where you will be briefed on all the obstacles and then timed on your own best effort around the course. In the evening you have a chance to talk to the Senior recruits in training and find out the real story about training and what they think about it.
Day 2: Another early start followed by breakfast, then at 0800 hrs the interview process begins where you will have a chance to speak to your individual Section Commander. He will ask you a few questions on Corps related matters and your motivation for wanting to join. At 1100 hrs you undertake the 3 mile squad run in 22.5 minutes. At 1400 hrs you will move back to the gym for the final physical test. This is where the team will assess your strength of mind and endurance to carry on when you are tired. On completion you will visit the Foundation Centre where you will spend the first 2 weeks in training, learning to administer yourself and starting the process of adjusting to the service lifestyle. You will receive a further brief on the realities of training outlining the 30 week training syllabus so that you are fully aware of what to expect.
Day 3: You will be told your results and de-briefed on performance. Successful candidates will be given information on how to improve their fitness further, prior to returning for recruit training in 8 - 12 weeks. Good luck!

in my equiptment list for the prmc it says i need a pair of trunks. personally i think trunks are for fat german holiday makers thus i dont own a pair. i do have some black swimming shorts. would these be sufficiant or shall i start drinking hasseroder and talking german??
Was Wondering.
I have Just Left College and Am strongly Thinking of Joining the RM, but i wanting to know, if i was to Apply at Around August/September, how long would it take to get a place int he PRMC.
The Also, IF i was to pass PRMC how long would the Normal Between Period be for going to the 32 Week Training Course.
Would Me Being in N.Ireland make the Application Process Longer do you Think?
Thanx For Your Time!
