Motivational Songs

Ok am just sat here bored and just curious about this one.

But what is the one song that gets you motivated for joining the Forces or feeling the need to do something crazy the most?

I dont want to see the Rocky Theme tune here

My problem is I can remember a tune and the first few lines of a song, but that's about it. Anyway, we used to have a version of a song called "le cure de Camaret" (used to be sung by Michel Sardou I guess, called "le Paraguay n'est plus ce qu'il etait", or "Paraguay isn't what it used to be").
Our version went:

"le cure de Camaret
a les couilles trop longues
quand il s'assoit dessus
elles lui rentrent dans l'cul!"

Something like:

"the priest from Camaret
has too long a putz
when he goes to sit down
it goes right up his arse"

Poorly translated, but you get the gist... That was on marches (yomps, to you  ).

Ralph the Airborne Ranger
lyrics would get me thrown off the board.
Let them call me a rebel and I welcome it, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of demons were I to make a whore of my soul. (Thomas Paine)

I find i get most motivated to train when listen to the training sequence from Rocky four. This is the part when he's running through the snow and chopping wood. Also that song " Hearts on fire" this is also from the same film.

Nimrod. by Elgar. Love it bigtime.

Land of Hope and Glory. That gets me pulse racing.
Can't tell you the names of the other stuff as I never bothered to find out what they were called.

What I used to love and still do is the "Corp of Drums" Beating retreat! An inspiring thing to listen to. If they ever made a mistake I never noticed.

The Army bands will never come close to Royal letting rip!
The Royal Marines band are in a different league compared to any other service band. It makes me burst with pride whenever I see and hear them.

Keep these in your head, they may be especially helpful on defensive exercises.

Ride of the Valkyries - Wagner
Luftwaffe March - Battle of Britain Soundtrack
British Grenadiers
"Poor Ike, it won't be a bit like the Army. He'll find it very frustrating. He'll sit here and he'll say, 'Do this! Do that!' And nothing will happen."
Harry Truman

Now I can't get that march out of my head.
Guess I'll just have to watch the movie again.
That will p*ss off She who Must Be Obeyed.
Nothing new there though.

I personally like Sponge Bob's "Steppin' on the Beach" but it's an acquired taste!

Blue Bonnets O'er the Border is what our Colours are marched on to. Even as an Englishman it get my blood going.

Ditto on Wagner!

Ry Cooder's "Theme From Southern Comfort" would be a damned good accompaniment to a close recce!

Artist, have to agree with Nimrod from the Enigma Variations. During the training we had for going to the Cenotaph in London. We had to stand and listen to it for three weeks.

Ride of the Valkyries - I'll not mention the regiment, just in case.

I vow to thee my country, I think its Jupiter from the planet suite.

For training, Cafe Del Mar by Energy 52. Ran round the deck of the ship many times to that bit of music.
There are are two kinds of people:

Those who say to god, "Thy will be done", and those to whom god says, "Alright then, have it your way".
