Definition of Man management
"All right, they're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us...they can't get away this time"
To get an employee to better than his best by finding without him really noticing what you are doing. You look for his strengths and weaknesses you praise his strengths and suggest ways that he can improve his weaknesses this would also mean a way monitoring his work with out him feeling that he is being victimised. Each person will have have different out look on life and it is up to you to try and find just what buttons you need to press to get him or her to excel

In my job during promotion boards etc we are always getting asked what we think our weakness is, the thing our bosses like to hear is that any weakness you have can and is turned into a strength so isnt a weakness.............make sense?
Exemplo Ducemus (By Example We Lead)
"Do not confuse your rank with my authority....Sir!"

In summary, the aim of military man-management is to set the
conditions in which soldiers will give their best to achieve the
common purpose. In turn by ensuring that the best is made of
the different ability and personality of every soldier, good
man-management creates the conditions for effective
leadership.

I imagine that these principles could apply to almost any organization.
