Re: Chef Trade Ability Tests

Not a clue, sorry!
If one of the chefs in our mess is anything to go by it'll be how to make soup taste of either water, or just salt and pepper...

You could try asking on the RAF recruitment page on FB, or asking the AFCO?
Good luck anyway!

Best checking with them - different training establishments have different programs.

Re: RAF Police application taking forever :(

All the reasons you've been given for the delay sound reasonable to me - if you want to put your mind at rest I would suggest finding the RAF Recruitment page on Facebook and posting your question on there. You should get an answer within a couple of days (they tend to be off doing roadshows etc at ...

Re: Officer interview

Do you mean for the filter interview at the AFCO or at OASC?

Re: HELPING FORMER SOLDIERS AND CURRENT SOLDIERS

Tab - the second post on this thread contained a link to an essay writing service, which I removed. I don't think he's actually going to do anything for charity...
Apart from which, I tried it and the link doesn't go anywhere!

Re: Basic Training / Change Trade

Your best bet is to chat with the DS. The trade you're thinking of switching to may not be recruiting right now.

It's probably not going to be a production at all, somebody's revived a post from April 2013...

Re: Looking for genuine custom British Army dog tags

Yeah, my dad had the soft ones when he was in, but they're all metal these days.
I guess it depends if the OP is looking for 'authentic' tags in current use or from a particular period of time.

Re: Looking for genuine custom British Army dog tags

Mine have always been metal Tab, I just get 'bumpers' to put on them to stop them jingling. Doesn't work so well with my med tag though!

Re: Joining the Raf

Most of it will be all the info you put on your application form, nice and easy!
The rest will be to find out how much you know about the RAF in general, the role you're applying for in particular, and your awareness of what's going on in the world.

Re: Raf training and pay

You should get 2 weeks of block leave over Christmas, probably starting the last Saturday before, and you will get paid from the day you start at Halton. I'm not sure how much it is these days but you should be able to find out fairly easily!

Re: Concerns about joining

It is frustrating, but it's temporary. You just have to keep telling yourself they're doing it all for a reason. In some respects it's easier with a bit of life experience as you know yourself better, and you can see it for what it is. Do you definitely want Army? I joined the RAF in a job that mean...

Re: Concerns about joining

Sorry I can't help from an Army perspective, but I joined the RAF at 26, so I understand a bit of your concerns. I was almost the oldest on my intake at Basic training, and I struggled a bit with going from being a graduate, a manager and even just an independent grown up to being a recruit, but it ...

Pop yourself across to www.britishforcessweethearts.co.uk for a chat with some wives/girlfriends/mums/sisters of serving chaps. May be more useful to you to hear what life is like from that perspective!
