JPA Nightmare
My personal experience of JPA so far has been a total mare. You can no longer sit as your PDA Clerks desk and enquire politely as to why they have for some ineqplicable reason not paid you correctly. You phone JPAC, a civilian "call centre". They have no idea of our experiences with regard...

Dont spend a lot!
Hi there, I went through Halton back in 2003 and unless they have updated the kitting list with the AFCO's a lot of the stuff you have on the list is rubbish. A few hints and tips for you: Dont buy Ron Hill track suit bottoms, They are on the list but the PT instructors wont let you wear them. Locke...

Keogh
To be honest there is not much right with Keogh. To start with it is in Aldershot, and if the UK had haemorrhoids they would be located there. Then the accommodation block for phase two training recruits is ready to fall down. It should really have been knocked down years ago but something to do wit...

Med Training
Unless I am mistaken you will do your Med Assist Training at Keogh Barracks in Aldershot which is alegedly a Tri Service Station. Having just done a six month stretch there (Im not kidding) it is not the nicest of places to begin an RAF career. The only saving grace is you will probably get married ...

other options
Keep on pestering the AFCO I know they are reducing the number joining but hey the recruiting adverts are still on the TV. If you know what trade you want stick with it and dont be pressured into one you dont want just to get in. Another suggestion may be to try another AFCO as the information they ...

Falkens, Why dont you apply for Airmen Aircrew. Ive recently passed out at Halton and am under the impression that the Air Force are crying out for them at the moment. The money is better than the ground trades and you would be at Sergant rank upon completion of training. If your AFCO is anything li...

Well recruit training over. . . . Thank God! Managed to get through without being reflighted and my pass out parade was on the 25th of November and I can honestly say the 9 weeks hard work before it dissapeared into insignificance when standing up there on the parade square doing my arms drill. . (p...

Im now on day 17 of Recruit Training Squadron. I am absolutely loving it. The parts I thought I would struggle with are the things that have not been too bad. IE: PT ed. Discipline. This has been a doddle compared to the week I've just spent with the Regiment doing GDT. Been in the gas chamber (shou...

Proud Salopian Im due to start my basic training at Halton on Wednesday 24th Sept. If you keep checking the forum I will post as much info as I can about the training when I get a weekend off, hopefully I wont have to suffer from re-flighting for any reason in which case I am led to believe I get ap...

I think Sticky Blue provided the most accurate explanation of what the medical consists of. Although I was not questioned on either my cycle or contraception. The doctor I saw was very abrupt and blunt (I was overweight and needed to excercise more. So I hope your not easily offended, although I don...

:microwave: Think am just at the point where I'm thinking Oh god Im really going to do this. The other worry that I have is that the trade of EH Tech only recruits once a year and if I dont get through the basic training this time round I will have to persue another interest for the next 12 months (...
