Your medals dont look a day older then 21! Well thats how old I thought you were. I'm doing a construction management degree, and to be honest dont want to go into the constrution industry for many different reasons so I'm not looking to get a great score on my degree, just pass it! And think I can ...

Yeah pretty much everyone had their eyes fixed to the beatings the RMR were getting on that morning feild inspection. A few interesting ones I saw: Dirty mess tins- crawling on belly with hands behind back holding said mess tins Dirty mug or flask- star jumps or press ups Not a full water bottle aft...

To settle this I'd just like to say the RMR are much better than the OTC, at pretty much anything lol. I have just come back off ex with my OTC and we were in the same area as phase one RMR recruits. Just the disipline for inspection and on the runs and stuff, kicks anything we do really. The only t...

Fair Dos, as you said its only what you heard but I have been to both and from what I have seen the OTC was better than the RMR, not slating anyone here who is in the RMR, as I have the upmost respect for you, and as I said I only sat in a few lessons during a few holding troop sessions. There are a...

Dwarfy, please dont slag off the OTC if you have never been part of it (and btw 50% of officer cadets that go to Sandhurst have been part of the OTC). I think it all depends on the OTC that you are at, I am at Oxford OTC and in my experience it was more detailed and hands on than some of the lessons...

Havent spoken to you in a while, whats your story at the moment then? Have you passed RCB (or AOSB as I think it's now called) or a TACC to get into 4 PARA? Last I heard you were nursing an injury werent you? To be honest I think your safest bet is the standard issue one, it takes a bit of getting u...

You may want to check with your AFCO about the course mate, I think you need to cover two different subjets e.g. when I applied (which took about 3 months to get a POC btw) I dont think I was aloud to take dobble leisure and recreation as they overlap the same things. So I took PE DT and leisure and...

Alright guys thanks for all the advice. I spoke my Adj last night and he is trying to arrange a summer placement (2 weeks) with the Irish Guards for me, that should give me a good insite! I know what you mean about the whole sterotypical officer, and I think its slowly fading out, but hey- I'm not j...

So these visits arent on a pass fail basis? I thought the whole point in them was for them to say that they will sponsor you through Sandhurst? So am I correct in saying that if you turn up and dont majorly F-up them they will be your sponsor? I'm at Larkhill next weekend! Cheers for all the info so...

L&F, which regs have you visited? Do you mind telling me how long you spent at each one, and the rough outline? Do you think they all follow the same layout?

Irish Guards Ossicer

Before joining the OTC I was a raving lunatic all for joining the RM, but after a lot of thinking and experiences I'm thinking a career in the army wouldn’t be all THAT bad (in comparison). I'm thinking Irish guards officer at the minute (Dads side of the family are Irish), but a few problems have a...

No you dont need your applications filled out. But to be invited back to holding troop you would need to have started the application process. The presentation just goes over everything on the website (commitments, training etc) and you get a tour of the building as well as asking any questions.
