Re: RAF regiment interview
As a very basic for the Regt: important dates (such as when they were formed), what they do, where they are based. There's probably an RAF recruitment page on FB where you can actually chat to somebody in the recruitment office, and they should be able to put you in touch with somebody RAF Regt who ...

Re: Failed medical
Sadly Tab is right - even those joining up without any underlying issue often end up with knee problems. The physical nature of Phase I training is such that even if he's been injury free for a couple of years beforehand, it's highly likely he would do himself significant damage during the course, a...

Re: Bullying in the British Army?
There's a difference between hard training and bullying from the instructors though Tab. It becomes bullying when one person is repeatedly singled out and treated differently from others - that's not on. The other problem would be bullying from people who are supposed to be your peers, which is some...

Re: Bullying in the British Army?
You do realise that BBC link you posted is from 2008, and the Mirror article is from 2013? Not exactly recent reports... It's nowhere near as bad as you seem to think it is, and the guy in the Mirror article is likely to be exaggerating because they'll be paying him for his story. There is a lot of ...

Not necessarily Tab - it probably depends on the role applied for.

Re: As a 14 year old, what can I do to become a Fighter Pilo
Whatever you choose to do at college, make sure you do it well, then seriously consider going to university and getting a degree - and if you do that, choose a university with a university air squadron attached. Other than that I would say make the most of being 14. Don't focus too much on the futur...

Yep, 5 years' residency is a requirement.
Have a look on the Armed Forces Careers website and see if you can have a live chat with somebody, they may be able to give you specific advice.

It's usually an 'in place of', so it would be used if somebody covered a duty for somebody else.

Re: Medics in the special forces
Flying helicopters is seriously hard. An engineer who worked on them on the ground might have an idea how the controls worked (depending on their specific job) but in an emergency wouldn't have time to master the coordination needed to gain control of it.

Alexa, get yourself over to www.britishforcessweethearts.co.uk - it's a forum specifically for women with an association with the Forces that I also belong to (under a different name)
There are a lot of lovely ladies who will help answer your questions and set your mind at rest.
