Buget Cuts
Whilst surfing the RAF.mod site earlier I noticed that budget cuts have truely been taken to a new level. Following a link about a memorial to those who've died in support helicopters I clicked to view the artists impression of the finished work -> http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafodiham/images/memorial.gif...

Thanks for the offer Biggles, but I've already got it sorted. The contact in the CLO who sorted out me visiting the branch placement has alredy kindly offered me some more time on station with them if I feel I still have questions/want to understand the branch better. I think though I'll get all my ...

ARDUA or ARDVA
I'm confused as to what the Latin word for struggles used in the RAF motto is supposed to be. It would made sense for it to be ardua - from which we get arduous - and this is what it says on the page about the RAF motto http://www.raf.mod.uk/history/hrafmotto.html . However the RAF badge seems to sp...

I was talking to some GR4 aircrew on sat about the FOAS. So far it's just a name for a project. Nothing more than that. They may even possibly still be in pre-concept about it but it definately hasn't got any further than the concept phase of development. Bit of a problem really when you think that ...

Sorry, a bit of confusion. I haven't visited Wittering yet. I'm down to go on the 21st July. I'm looking forward to it though. The lady I spoke to in the careers liaison office was really good and got me on one ASAP, she said that she wasn't sure about the possibility of me spending other days on ba...

I've been to a presentation but at the time I was more concerned with asking questions about family issues, and like I said, hadn't really thought about the implications of medical stuff. Thanks for the advice, and yea I'm enjoying the organising visits, and from what people have said of them it sou...

They said it was fine. I've been passed to a guy who can book me in and am just waiting for him to call me back. Chicksands was the hardest - the guy in the guardroom said that half of him believed my story but the other half believed that I was a 'press man' (probably cause of the Sun's recent acti...

Hey guys, Jeb, I'm not a pilot - yet. The GR4 is what I would ideally fly. I spent a day with II Sqn in '99 during the midlife update and fell in love with it. Biggles, I've only filled in the AFCO 1 so far, my paperwork isn't in yet because I want to spend at least a day at Wittering (hopefully mor...

Medical - Skin Conditions
I was talking to a nurse today who said that she's known people with a history of/current eczema or dermatitis have trouble getting into the armed forces on medical grounds. Can anybody let me know if this is true because I have a history of eczema at around 7-10 Years and sometimes get dry skin (al...
