I think it conveyed an old forgotten lesson - that you can only hold the ground you stand on. But as time passes these basic truths fade away, and another generation of young men have to fight and die to remind the world again. As they always do, the Britsh Soldier is shown to be the professional th...

AJ, if you call flying a helicopter as a decoy to draw Exocets away from naval ships 'away from the action', then I must say that is a rather narrow definition of 'action'. Yes he should serve in action; yes, he will make a target of himself; yes the risks will be higher for the soldiers under his c...

gtsco - C4 has been told that before and many other things, but he refuses to listen or learn. He's opened his mouth to change feet so many times I think he is an effing centipede.

My comment about 'cushy' referred to skills transferring to civvy street.

Talk about what you know - even in active service helicopters have to be marshalled.

And these days, not just anyone can "chuck bags into a 747 at Heathrow"....

If it gets you a cushy job waving table tennis bats at aircraft for £300 a week, then that is not crap to me.

How many NVQ2s have you got C4?

Hate to be a kill-joy but if it anything like 'bio-diesel' then it is pure sh1te. There is a plus side though - rovers drive through Taliban stronghold - Taliban sniff the air and think it is the chip-van - pile out for din-dins and get took out by that old favourite, the 'gimpy supper'. Might work....

Have to agree with Tab and Liquidius - could cost you more than you could ever afford to lose, much more than you might - a big might - gain. Stick with the police mate, a lot of people would give their right appendage to have what you have. You could 'split the difference', try one of the TA RMP un...

Probably explained away as being 'connected' to an alleged kidney stone, but in reality involved a vacuum cleaner hose being jammed somewhere it shouldn't be, and they glossed over the fact that he arrived naked except for a pair of black stilletto heels.....guess we all celebrate Christmas in our o...

(sigh)..don't make me explain it again...damn near confused myself doing it the first time.... Doesn't mean you are hiding total deafness, most people with minor hearing damage lose part of the audible tonal range, so playing it smart you can hide this. I can hear perfectly well but the tests highli...

Hmm....think about this one mate - the 'tones' come through at set intervals, so at the ones you have bother with - you'll know when you DON'T hear them - hit the button in a timed rythym, and you should crack it. Sounds a bit daft but it works, i can vouch for that. I did mine arse about face - dam...
