Thanks for all the advice.

It's been a while since I posted on here but thanks to everyone who gave me help and stuff, I officially start basic 02/02/14 which I'm thrilled to bits with and can't wait to start!

Thanks to the people who offered me advice on fitness and other stuff over the past few months! Happy to say I passed my selection on Wednesday! Roll on phase 1!!

Unfortunatly my GCSE results go against me but I've picked 3 jobs which I like the sound of. Armoured Engineer, Driver/Communcations Specialist and Air Despatcher. I have to ring back next friday with my 3 choices and then onto the next phase whatever that is lol

Sounds like everythings going great for you Ash. Im a similar age but no wife. I was tempted to go TA due to my age but thought I might aswell go for it! I do the same on my phone when I'm supposed to be doing stuff just browsing military stuff lol

Cheers pal. It went quite well, I believe max score is 75 and I got 68, the recruiter said opens up most jobs so im happy with that. My regular recruiter wasnt in today so got to go intomorrow and pick up jobs list!

Update..

I finally got down to the 89kg(14stone) mark to make the application and finally submitted it last monday which im really chuffed about and I've got my barb test on the 3rd October. My fitness is heading in the right direction to with a best effort of 12.42 for my 1.5 alot better than my pathetic 15...

i put in a new system for myself for fitness, every time i enter a room i do a set routine depending on the room. front room = 20 push ups bedroom = 20 squats bathroom = 20 situps. and full body stretch when i go on the balcony. As for Military fitness, they are a good company, doe the free lesson ...

Try British Military Fitness worked wonders for my fitness. They have classes all over the country and the first one is free!

I went from 19stone to currently 14st 4lb from just eating healthy, no particular diets. I also started going to British Military Fitness classes and they've helped me no end! I've never been so fit.. really worth looking into if you theres one close by and can afford it.

Is there much oppourtunity to train as a PTI in the Army if I wanted too ? Or is it just people who are asked to specialise in it?
