Hello there, I'm james I'm joining the RN as a warfare specialist and my interview is on Thursday! I'm revising and researching all I can but it's all jigsaw puzzles of information, I would just like a chromological order of things like my phase 1, phase 2, navy contracts in general (like 4 years c...

Re: Invitation to be photographed

Good Day, I'm a photographer with aims of photographing war and conflict, I am considering joining the forces and being an embedded photographer but first I want to talk to people who have already witnessed such things. I suffer from mental illness myself and so I think this is why I am drawn to th...

Calm down sweet cheeks. Get your teddies back in your pram. The orignal poster hasn't made a comment so I don't see why you are getting on your high horse. Anyone else for the outrage bus.

That may have been your idea of banter but it wasn't particularly witty. You can't say that sort of thing to women you don't know. Especially civvies.
You're just behind the curve. It's a tri-service policy and changed about 6 months ago. Keep up.

Really Firstmate? You're clearly out of date on E&D training… Nobalie, I apologise for the crudeness. However, you might want to try http://www.forcespenpals.co.uk if you would like to actually correspond with military types, you'll get more sensible replies over there. No need to apolog...

Re: Looking to join RN in Jan - few questions

Oh dear. Firstly, when you join the navy they are looking for commitment. You don't seem to be commited at the moment as you are only concerned about how much time you will be able to see family and girlfriend, which is understandable. Don't assume that you have the qualities that they are looking f...

Re: Racism worry

You shouldn't come across any bullying in the forces mate, everyone's in the same boat. The type of idiots that bully people will fail the basic training course. Expect plenty of friendly banter though, you might pick up a nickname or two, but everyone knows where the line is between a bit of fun a...

My eyes are okay I believe, I can see fine with both eyes open but when I cover my right eye my vision is blurred in my left (not at really short distances). I'm wondering what the eye test is for joining the RM, do they ask you to read the chart with both eyes open or is it one my one? My colour p...

You cannot appeal against the medical standards. However you can appeal against the diagnosis that caused you to be rejected.
