As far as I am aware you get 2 weeks off at Easter and 4 weeks off in the Summer (usually most of August). 28 weeks training from 8th Feb would take you to the end of September I think. I doubt a holiday in August would be a problem, but AFCO is best place to check - they might be able to put you in...

Another cheep and effective tool for helping you build a solid core is the 'ab wheel' you might think there gimmicky and only for TV ad people but try doing these standing up and you'll soon see just how tricky it really is. Anyone who can do multiple reps with a wheel should find conventional sit ...

As far as I know, pretty much everyone is issued the SA80A2, people who travel in vehicles without much space are given a short barreled version SA80A2K. The HR woman on Warzone last week was carrying one. Officers are 2Lt throughout RMAS, when posted to your Regiment as a graduate you would be a Li...

I was with them for 3 years, their telephone staff are pretty useless, direct debits not being set up when I asked, or cancelled etc. Took them 4 months to reimburse me when I moved to orange after they had charged me too much. Throughout the contract not much went wrong, but when it did I felt I di...

I'd say the previous advice of 'If they dont ask then dont tell' is probably best. It's not something they ask about on the forms, so I doubt it is a bar to entry, but you may get misinformation along the way if it is brought up. Don't be dishonest, but answer the questions you are asked. If it was ...

I have no doubt that when you pass out in RMR you're as capable as a reg, ultimately you are trained to carry out the same job. They do stress the fact that reserves are held as equal to the regs, all part of one big family etc There are plenty of chances to get on exercise/ops with regulars so you...
