Talked to a mate of mine ex south african recce, he said thier march was 11.8 miles in 2 hours with a 84 lb bergen.

I have recently been told by a US National Guard (TA) LRS (long range surveillance) guy, that his platoon can march, with 45lb bergens (min weight) webbing/rifle, for 12 miles in 2 hrs and less.
