Hello :) So, how much do you miss No.1 mess? Can't believe I'm still going to be here until at least Christmas!

Best of luck for the rest of your training.

Sponsered triathlon for BHF

Hello Everyone,

One of the Officer Cadets at RAF Canwell is doing a sponsered Ironman Triathlon for the British Heart Foundation.

If you're interested in sponsoring him please take a look at his website.

Thanks :)

You may have the opportunity to train cadets in your career. I'm at Cranwell and we get taught the basics such as first aid and weapons drill by the Regiment guys.

I wouldn't imagine your promotion prospects are any different, as for pay I have no idea. Ring your local RAF careers office and they'll be able to give you a definite answer.

Gemma, where you looking to go with the training you are doing? I'm a Cadet at RAF Cranwell - but I'm on holding flight at the moment due to an injury. So I'm not really looking to go anywhere, just working on my upper body strength while I'm waiting to go back on course. I like pull-ups simply bec...

i found it seemed so much harder running on a treadmill than running on the road dont know why I run 1.5 miles in 11:30 minutes on the road - I struggle to do it in 13:00 on a treadmill with zero incline. Maybe it's because on the road you're able to speed up easily when you're feeling comfortable ...

Thanks :) It was a little worrying - thought it meant I'd not be able to do them again :o

Very basic question I'm afraid, but we've all got to start somewhere. At the moment I can only do about 1 pull-up (it says almost 3 up the top but that was with rest between them), so I did about 5 reps of just one pull-up with rest in between each rep on Saturday. Now it's Thursday and I can't eve...

At least one suit, a shirt for each day as it's going to be hot. Some civvies to wear in your room in the evening if you wish and a couple of sets of shorts and t-shirts for fitness test/under the overalls for the hanger exercise.

Well, I gave up on trying for the pull-ups and concentrated on general upper body strength. I'm sat here in the block desperately trying to cram my NBC kit into my jet pack and realised I needed my gloves and decontaminations kit. Without realising I just did 2.75 ish pull-ups to the top of my locke...

A question for any of the girls on here, or you guys who have trained with women, do you know if 12:30 is a reasonable time? I'm working on getting it lower, but will assume 12:30 incase I have an off day when I have to do it for real.

If, for example, you suffer from hayfever or migraines and have never actually been to the doctor with them, it would probably be possible for you to bluff your way into the RAF. Problem starts when you get a hayfever attack in the middle of your sortie in your Tornado - you are probably going to cr...
