If I were you NSLD I'd shut up. Lots of people went down south and didn't come home, their buddies on here don't need you mouthing off about the war and making stuff up. Invincible may have been hit but so was Glamorgan and she made her own way home so I'm sure invincible could too. On the way home ...

Families Day your family and whoever else come down and watch you run around the assault course and then do a little drill display and get your recruit phase certificate. Your family will get to see around some of the gear JCBRN and the GBAD Sqns use. You'll get to wear your 95s too. NBC week. you w...

They stop you at the standard expected, so it's not best effort, but you do have to meet the standard in the set times.

Running - You can improve this by starting off at a short distance (say 500M) and each week build up the distance slowly. Your speed will come with strength, which will come with more running. Sit Ups - You can do the PTI's favourite. Pyramids. Set off doing five, pause, four, pause, three, pause, t...

RAF Regiment in media

Recently I have noticed lots of Regiment ads in magazines and on TV. Also in Nuts magazine some editors were in Belize with the Rocks for a week and the editor from Zoo did PGAC. While this is good as it will hopefully increase the man power it will probably attract the wrong type of person. The Reg...

The RAF Regiment is another option. The same standard of training as the booties and II Sqn is Para trained. (PPS is slightly harder than P-Coy though  )

Nobody is here as of yet, though they will start pouring in in a couple of hours. Things are boring at first but by week 4 you start to feel like you are really in training. The first two PT lessons are the same as PGAC. Bleep test, press ups and sit ups and the 3 mile run, this time it is best effo...

Being a baby rock, I do a lot of running. My advice is to go in the zone and through it, ignore the pain by singing your fave song in your head. I don't know if it is the same for guins but we do squad runs so you will have everybody else in the squad to help you through it. Get out running for prop...

RAF Regt./RM training

How does bootneck training compare with Rock training? I'm told it is basically the same as booties ran the first BG back at Filey.

I'm not on that course but I know a few who will be there. Aylett, Rahaman, Presty, Shead, Hubbard, Harvey and Story. All good lads. They'll all help you out in the early stages.

Nope they don't do the confidence test anymore, or at least they hadn't when we were talking to them in the mess. They still do the tab, though it is not a pass or fail thing, it is to test your strength of character. It isn't that far really, just grit your teeth and think of the mudguards and ques...

As Gaz says, the 3 miler is easier.

The NCOs are a laugh, if you get anything from the tuck shop make sure you tell the SAC what you got, then tell him again. He will only keep asking.

You get to run round with a plastic SA80 too.
