The Life Guards of The Household Cavalry are the Army's most senior Regiment.
But there NOT the oldest though, I belive it is the Royal Scots. But I thought that the Grenidier Guards were the 1st of foot. Again complicating things, but I'm probably wrong.

I would just like to say that even though pezmod comes across as a complete tw*t for calling Artist the C word, never the less is argument regaurding the 12 weeks was correct. I'm sorry Sticky and Artist and anyone else who agrees but you don't go to your Regiment after your initial 12 weeks trainin...

Hello. There's alot of people on this page saying they have worked with both Royal Marines and Army and saying that Royal Marines are better. But you can't compare the two, they both do different jobs, it's like comparing the Army with the Navy. You could compare the RM's with say the Infantry inclu...

I agree, but it's a pass. You will find that hardly no one fails, even some of the old sweats who have let themselfs go abit.

That is what would be expected from new recruits starting basic training. By the time you get to your Units they would expect them to be alot quicker. For example: The Infantry at Regiment is 10:30 but they would expect less than 10. The RE,RA and Household Cav and I would also expect the RAC also e...

Artist. I don't dispute what you are saying there. I live on an estate that only houses people from two Regiments plus of course a few attached personnel e.g.. REME, AGC , etc. So there isn't much tension as everyone knows each other through work. I also use to live next door to a Warrant Officer wh...

Yes, OK I accept that. It was wrong to say that Fire-fighters don't live in the real world, Of course they do, and they do a very worth while job. But you must admit your demands for the first strike were well out of order, you can't expect a 40% pay rise. And what I heard that the reason the Fire-f...
