Re: Are Foreign Languages useful in the Paras

Having a skill like that will benefit you in ALL walks of life not just the forces. I too can speak a bit of the old German due to being an army brat over there as a kid while my dad served. If your that way inclined and you get the oportunity to learn go for it! I always took oportunities presented...

Re: Parachute Regiment Training Programme

'Before I started that training programme I was not very fit. Just determined' this is the mindset that is required. Along with the ability to overide your body screaming at your brain to stop because it cant take no more. My advise is find a favourite lungbusting exercise and do that often. it will...

Re: New to the forums, but straight to the point!

all services have more or less the same bar on entry. consult with your doctor then approach the careers office. you may get 'lucky' in that your case is refered to head shed and they weigh up the pros and cons and decide your ok for training.

well I am too. I aint suprised my glorious para reg are maintaining standards but very saddened to hear the lines are now doing this. i take it with a pinch of salt though. by the way the other unit that matched the pt training mantra of the airborne was a certain RAF Regt who I also was with ;O)
